| Most Americans have never heard of Tommy Douglas but Canada voted him the "Greatest Canadian". Tommy Douglas is the man who brought universal health coverage to Canada. Canadians live longer, have better health outcomes and spend far less money on health care than Americans do. The only losers when Canada went to a single payer health care system were the insurance companies. |

Kids having fun at the Zoo |
| This is one of the first illustrations I attempted completely digitally as I was learning the medium. I liked the idea but didn't really have a good feel for working digitally at the time so I went back recently and cleaned it up. Amazing how much easier it is now that I have established some guidelines and working procedures for myself. None of those obtrusive barriers to spoil the view at this zoo! |

Gardening Illustration |
| Anyone who gardens in a rural or semi rural area knows that everything out there seems to want a piece of the fruits of your labor. From seed to finished produce there is something out there at every stage just waiting for you to turn your back so it can devour your hard work! |

Family Vacation Illustration |
| This is the time of year when everyone's thoughts turn to the family summer vacation. Pile the kids, the dog and the camping gear into the car and hit the open road. Oh, and just be sure those kids don't get too out of control! |

The Evolution of an Envelope |
| I have been sending out my postcards in envelopes to increase the likelihood that they will arrive in a condition worth keeping. Envelopes are 20ยข each but are also an opportunity to present another image to the art buyer. I wasn't sure the post office would accept or deliver an envelope with a drawing on it so on the first I carefully kept clean the areas with information - stamp, recepients name, return address, and used curves to make the image very light. I have not had any problems or comments from USPS and have been progressively bolder with each. Below are three examples, from oldest to newest. |
